Inlays or Onlays
Dental inlays and onlays are a most conservative approach in tooth restorations than full crowns .They are used to restore rear/back teeth that have mild to moderate tooth decay or for cracked teeth where the damage does not warrant a dental crown .Porcelain ,composite resin and sometimes gold are used to create inlays and onlays.
Inlays
Refer to those restorations where the bonded material is limited to the centre/interior of the tooth
.
Onlays
Refer to those restorations where the bonded material extends further to one or more cusps of the tooth .
Procedure
The procedure typically takes three visits like the crown and bridge visit .
